Thank you Dean for this excellent tutorial!
These songs mean so much to me.
I break up every time I think about Neil. But Neil and Rush will always be alive in our hearts and in our instruments!
I appreciate every video you do my friend! 😎👍🎸

Thank you Dean for another outstanding lesson! I’m a huge RUSH fan and took Neil’s passing pretty hard too. There will never be another! “Suddenly you were gone, from all the lives you left your mark upon”, could not be more true!
I think it’s up to people like us to keep their music alive. I really appreciate you doing these great videos. You have taught me things I’ve tried to figure out for years! I’ve mentioned this in a comment before, but I really like the way you do the video looking down at the fretboard. What an excellent idea! It allows viewing of exact finger placement. Please keep up the great work my friend! 😎👍

Thanks, great lesson. This is one of those Rush songs that can reduce to a guitar and vocal.

This song seems easy but I think it's a good bit of work to get all the ringing notes clean and rhythms tight. The vocals are no joke, too, but Geddy's vocal melodies are never easy, even when he came down in his voice to lower notes. It's one of Neil's best lyrics, though he had so many great ones. By the way, the famous Aimee Mann "time stand still" bridge works well over the chords Amaj7sus2 E C#5 B5.

RIP Neil.

Hi Dean, my favorite album of the 80s.

in the opening riff don't slide down to the A sus 2, keep the same fingering position the whole time.

Fantastic, thank you sir. Many of these 80s Rock riffs are hard to figure out for me...

I haven't even gotten to the end of the video, and I'm already bowing my thanks to you. I'd watched another video last night and simply could not nail the beginning. I haven't played in _cough-cough_ years, so I'm very rusty. LOL

Dude thank you so much for this! all the tabs I find are setup with very awkward fingerings and don't sound quite right but with the Alex Lifeson chords everything makes much more sense(duh) lol, only criticism I have is that the "oh canada" riff thing doesnt sound quite right to me but iv'e made it work. You're doing the lords work man!! would love more RUSH tutorials!!!

Wow, thank you! I am also quite a rush fan, im a chick so this is one of my favs. I also really love Tai Shan even though that song is an inside joke to them, i love it. I worked out a pretty good acoustic version of Subdivisions. Gonna subscribe thanks man 😊

have you heard "Pure Death" from the Hellsing OST RAID? it's track 14 I really like this song but haven't been able to learn it for lack of time. (I had to specify RAID cause the Hellsing OST is split between RAID and RUINS and I don't particularly care for RUINS)

I miss Neil too. It just seems so messed up and wrong that he had brain cancer. Considering how brilliantly used it and the gifts he gave the world even just with his lyrics! They are so much more than just songs to me... Lessons in life, guides, proverbs, gentle suggestions, signposts, how to avoid the pitfalls of the mind, reminders, conscience joggers, parables, tales of fantasy alongside everyday stories. It just seems such a cruel persecution by whatever powers there are whether its God, fate, chance destiny or the Devil. Its just not right and it really bothers me. I just had to say. All love to Dean and everyone united in our love for this band. x
