I live in Dolly's hometown and thousands of Tennesseeans signed a petition to have our confederate monuments replaced with statues of Dolly. She gave over 900 families $1, 000 a month for ten months after the tragic fires here in 2016. Her companies keep our local economy a float and they have for decades. She is a fighting spirit and should be example for all of today's leaders and politicians.

Dolly Parton is an example of the best of us. Unreal what she has done for her community and people she has known over the years. Incredible human being which we could use a lot more like.

Gotta admit, so many singers lose their voice at an older age. She still has it. 💕

I'm so proud I'm from Tennessee. I was born here and I'll die here. Dolly has been as much of mine and most Tennesseans lives as beans and cornbread. Just country people living a way of life we are so thankful for. Like Dolly I grew up about as poor as poor can get but I never knew we were poor because we had so much love. Our daddy died at 37 from heart problems but momma took care to make sure we had what we needed. She was a waitress by day and super woman all the time. We had a garden and chickens and kinfolk that sent us milk because several of them had cattle. Momma was an amazing cook and did a lot of canning so we had food and a warm place to sleep. Usually our brother the oldest had a room and us four girls had a bed together. Sadly momma died from cancer when I was nine so we were all still pretty young and we still miss her EVERY DAY. I loved that time in my life when we were all together and I'd live it over again if I could. We were blessed beyond measure. Dollys song Coat of many colors always has made me cry because I know exactly how she felt. Dolly isn't just a Tennessee treasure she's a National Treasure.
