ABOUT SAFE HARBOUR
On a yachting holiday from Darwin to Indonesia, five Australians come across a broken-down fishing boat, full of desperate asylum seekers. The Australians decide to help, towing the refugees, but when they wake the next morning the fishing boat is gone. Five years later they meet some of the refugees again and learn the truth. Someone cut the rope between the two boats and, as a result, seven people died when the fishing boat sank. The revelation drives a wedge of mistrust between the Australians, as they grapple with protecting themselves and doing the right thing. The refugees struggle with their desire for justice and, possibly, revenge. Old secrets come to light, relationships are shattered and lives are put in danger. And one question hangs over it all – who cut the rope?

Right from the beginning I knew the refugees were going to blame the ones who tried to help.

I think this show is made to portrait the worst in people. I have suffers lost as a boat refugee as well but I do not blame anyone.

They survived, not all of them, but it was beyond sickening to watch them blame the people (and by “them” I mean Ismael’s wife) who actually tried to help. They coulda just left them floating out there in the middle of nowhere to die. The assistance that the Australians did offer is what ultimately saved them… anyway the lesson here in this show is this, if you see a ship floating out in the middle of the ocean, it’s not your problem, leave it there.

Refugees needing to blame someone instead of taking responsibility for putting their own families in danger!!
Yes!! MANY poor decisions were made afterward- but those decisions would not have had to be made if the refugees were prepared in their decisions!! It was a risk

what a dumpster fire story. should go after the poor decision to put your child in danger and then blame people saving you. when i watched one show i would have left right away. another bleeding heart dump story.
