the reason I decided to go gas instead of coal was coal availability in my area. the closest place I could find that sold it was nearly 4 hours away, and they are asking $10 per lb and gas was barely down the road and 3.50 per gallon. Plus getting a coal forge into my garage would have been harder than putting in a gas forge.

I use a fire pit, with wood and charcoal, with a leaf blower to add oxygen and raise the heat of the fire. It’s great since it’s multi use for forging and parties

Also it's quieter: gas forges can be LOUD. I know. I have one. It kinda ruins the tranquility of the experience for me, personally.

Mow much do they cost? For the forges and the monthly cost of operation gas vs coal?

It'd be really interesting to hear about the differences between types of forges!!
ETA: Also, do you get any issues with fumes or ash or the like?

I'd definitely like to hear more. Ive seen one of those set ups in my local area once on marketplace but didn't have the funds at the time. Also, is yours outside? Under a covered area?

you can also make one out of some bricks and some charcoal and a old hair dryer with a basic metal tube to funnle the air in it works well from what i have seen have not tryed it thow mainly becuse shakey hands are not ment for forging like i have super shakey hands to the point where it ticks me off some times witch makes them shake more and then i cant really do much for a minute or so that needs me to be acuret like opening mail is hard when your hands shake more then a tree during a tornado also not allowed to use deep friers for the same reason not a good idea to work with really hot stuff when you cant controll your hands the best

That's a nice size fire pot. Looks the same as my Buffalo railroad pot from Centaur.
