The album is based on the Kauaʻi ʻōʻō (Moho braccatus) bird.
In 1987 a call of the last bird of this species was recorded.
The sample at the end of the album is this exact recording.
Unknowing that it was to be the last one, the male sang a mating call.
The pauses are for the female to join in a duet.
These birds were known to mate for life.
