Morning joe we don’t run a Kuhn Tedder but do run a big krone and always just give the spool a little tweak when lifting arms up to pick the outer rotors up a bit

Use same tedder and can pick end two rotors up so when pick it up it’s no where near floor

Hi Joe, we have the same Tedder as yours, we don’t leave it in float on the spool when folded out leave a little pressure in system and unless you’re in a very bad field will still have enough movement to follow the ground. ( we where disappointed to when we first started using it)

Are you not able to lift the Tedder rotors up a bit with the spool before you pick it up?

For manholes i can imagine you want to pick it up. But on headlands it's not really nescessary. I never do it, and i only do horse hay. Our customers always like it. Ptobably a prefence, but it most likely wont hurt your hay that much.

Thay being said, it's strange that it's an option on a big tedder like that, so I get your annoyance with it 😊.

had same problem with our 6 rotor i found just dabbing spool back lifts edges up don't know if your 8 rotor works same

Hi Joe, could you try trapping different thickness shim plates in the hinge of the last joint to lift it back into more of a straight line, when it's raised and then tack weld them in?

Alright joe, you’ve seem to be very lucky with the weather, we’ve had two loads of quite bad storms by mine and it’s ruined our hay crop and a had a load of cancelled hay contracts sadly but no bad thing- bit of maintenance never hurts a machine, anyways great video as always 👍🏻

Joe, could you use a strong ratchet strap to add tension to the outside arm from the centre?. Or add a buffer block inside the joint, like the rubber ones on a post hammer to absorb the impact?.

Yeah that xtrail could be my next car in few years.Been looking at the torque on the for towing and they do a E power 213 which is more horsepower than my 2.0 litre diesel xtrail..just got to convince the wife t she thinks there ugly..
