This is the best rendition of the song after Lee Greenwood's. Mr. Carter's arrangement had given the song a unique dimension that we never heard before. He sang it eloquently in a manner that best expresses the emotion that the song itself aims to portray. This is what country music should be. It must sound heartfelt and soulful to be genuine. On the other hand, those who attempt to cheapen country music today should altogether go to pop and sing on stage wearing only a belt on your waist.

I'm old country and I have never heard of this guy. He doesn't even come close to Lee Greenwood's version.
