I’m a Navy Vet from way back . This was a great talk and had to be EXTREMELY stressful in that environment. I’m not sure how Ryan stayed so fluent and steadfast in this hour of power. I was immediately nervous for him when I saw this on YouTube and couldn’t wait to see how he handled this. This was a job more than well done👊🤙

Bless you Ryan! This is exactly what I needed! Such an inspiration at a time of great suffering and nihilism! I must move forward with grace and courage!

Thank you for this expansive understanding of courage. Here is a quote from the writings of Marshall Vian Summers that expresses what it takes to find this courage within ourselves.
"Your deepest inclinations emanate from Knowledge. As your mind becomes clear of its restraints and as your life begins to open to the greater calling that is emerging for you now, these deeper inclinations will become more powerful and more evident. You will be able to discern them more easily. This will require great self-trust, which of course will require great self-love. To trust your deepest inclinations, to follow Knowledge and to be a student of Knowledge will re-establish your self-love and will place it upon a firm foundation that the world cannot shake. Here you are redeemed in your own eyes. Here you are brought into relationship with life." (MVS, Steps to Knowledge) And I would add, here your courage will be a natural outgrowth that serves the world.

I am following your journey, and I appreciate your courage to keep stepping up your game, learning, risking and expanding. You are an inspiration to me Ryan for you speak meaningfully, yet keep your words and actions simple and clear. You seem so humble, on your course, the Stoic Way.

... as a German Biologist - this is about the ranking and Hierarchy of Values - that determines Action and No Action. The way we Focus on Action. Then we apply ALL our resources to that Value Action - and preserve it from No Value Action. This attitude and View fuses with the TAO of WuWei - to NOT against natural principles. Not to get manipulated to Act for wrong Values.

Great meditation to start the day=] I love the Tiger Woods example. I have also been a lifelong fan of Kobe Bryant who would choose downtime to become a master of new skills. I also love this view of Marcus Aurelius as a lifetime learner. Even with crazy valuations of NFTs and collectibles, I still think that Michael Jordan's "stay in school" basketball card is the most valuable.

Ryan, you're judging the hallowed versus the hollowed courage is the type of certainty that I normally associate with hubris. I find 99.5% of what you share as truly inspiring, enlightening and worth my time to see if I can glean my truth from the same, but you may wish to be less certain of the motives of others where no evident damage has resulted. My two cents. Thank you for your efforts.

Just for interest sakes I'm on 9% 🔋 but I'll make sure everything important is going to be being said..I just need a particular time to prepare for the rough half an hour. But no need to hurry, Good friends.

Amen. This is wisdom. Courage is being willing to pay the price for your beliefs bc you did it for the greater good. It's unpleasant. But as MLK says, the world relys on the creatively maladjusted who seek truth and justice.

"Courage, " like every other subjective idea, is always in the eye of the beholder. You sound like most of the men with whom I worked as a career firefighter where you believe that the cause of one's courage is to be weighed more heavily than the courage itself. I stood up for privacy and equity issues we faced while living in a 24 hour work situation. Some men complained that they agreed with my fight, but not with the way I was doing it. I asked them to help me with this endeavor as it would get women out of the shared men's locker room but they said they didn't want to take the heat I was enduring! Ha! What a bunch of weenies.
