Not a fan of this cover. Obviously Carey has some incredible talent, but she suffers from overselling everything, prone to melismatic and melodramatic extremes, apparently thinking she needs to hit every note going up and down the scale, and finishing it off with a string of 40 well-executed but meaningless and distracting notes between verses. I'd rather hear Carey present this song, but it comes more across as the song presenting Carey.
