Why Bitcoin Is Less Risky Than Stocks

In this video, I discuss why I believe that Bitcoin is a much less risky investment than stocks. Stocks are subject to multiple risks, including governance risk, financial risk, operational risk, technological risk, legal risk, supply chain risk, reputational risk, etc.

By contrast, Bitcoin is a decentralized protocol that can no longer be stopped. Bitcoin is anti-fragile, so any attack on it only serves to make it stronger.

In addition, Bitcoin is a bearer asset, making it highly portable and also not subject to counter-party risk if you hold your own keys.

Bitcoin is built to last the next 10,000 years.

The math is clear, even if you start buying BTC at a cycle top you are in profit in a few years, but much sooner if you DCA from that point. This can not be disputed unless that pattern changes. Volatility, in this case, creates opportunity. Great vid as always.

Also stocks can be diluted by the company printing new shares. This happens commonly for many stocks. BTC by definition cannot be diluted.

Well done. This is one of the most counterintuitive things in this space. People that are attracted to Bitcoin are often attracted to the safety of its mathematical certainty. The fact that an emergent asset class is naturally volatile has often painted Bitcoin into the same category as very risky assets.

It should also be noted that there's no such thing as zero risk in any asset including so the called "risk free" assets.
And just because there's risk doesn't mean you shouldn't invest. It just helps you decide your allocation size.
