Its amazing that these old cartoons from the 60s 78s and 80s were able to run through the 90s and mid 200s before being taken off the air

The 4th season intro is probably the most recognized out of all them as a truncated version was used for the syndicated rerun series Smurfs’ Adventures. Beginning in 1986, these half-hour episodes featured some minor edits and time-compression (which resulted in the voices sounding a bit higher than normal) in order to allow two stories to run in the allotted time. For the first four seasons of episodes the season 4 closing theme was also used over the end credits. Starting with season 5 episodes, the respective original ending themes were used. Adventures would air on various independent stations before going to USA Network in the early 1990s, and then to Cartoon Network, where it would run throughout the 90s until the mid 2000's, and Boomerang, where it aired from 2000 and remain until 2022, eventually returning in 2023. The show ended up being acquired by DiC Entertainment and was run in the mid 2000s as part of the DiC Kids Network programming block with some editing and time compression. It also aired on Teletoon Retro in Canada.

Smurfs' Adventures was later moved to reruns on the USA Network in the early 1990s, from 1990 to 1993, then it was moved to Cartoon Network and aired from 1993 to early 2000, December 3, 2001-August 23, 2002, and aired on Boomerang from April 1, 2000 to December 29, 2000, April 9 to May 4, June 4 to November 2, 2001, January 7 to Match 28, 2002, April 7, 2003 to August 1, 2022 and returned to rotation on February 6, 2023 until April 7, 2023. The show ended up being acquired by DiC Entertainment and was run in the mid 2000s, in 2005 as part of the syndicated The Incredible World of DiC Kids Network programming block with some editing and time compression. Starting on August 7, 2023, the show began airing on Discovery Family.
