I am a beginner at laptop repairs, but was determined to do this myself, following your instructions, which were perfect, except for a couple of minor things that I was able to figure out.  Got the AC power jack replaced, and ready to put it back together.  I assumed you would video how to put it back together, but to my shock and devastation, you didn't.  I guess I am going to have to figure out how to watch your video backwards??  And I was so impressed.

Great video. I've worked on this system's older brother, the G73JH. It uses the exact same chassis so the process was identical.

I just did a similar repair and have never tried the heat gun method. I will definitely give that a try next time I replace a power jack. Thanks for the well done video.

The gel is BGA Flux. It helps the solder to melt and helps protect from burning the board. You can the flux on ebay. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for your Input Tim, I hope this will help others I found "High Temperature Flue Tape "at my local Ace hardware, made by 3M it is silver color 1 1/2 inches wide.

im having power jack problems, should i look into local pc repair places that can do this. because asus told me they would do that or replace my whole motherboard which i would not want since i cant back up anything right now.

Thx I'll need this video for next month when i get $40 or $80 from my parents so i can repair it and probably add more ram if i have money left over
