3 Awesome Ideas - Simple LED Projects

In this video I will show you 3 useful life hacks using LED lights you can do at home. All materials and components can be found in your local hardware store. Read more here!

Number 1: Light shards are awesome and very simple to make. All you need is plexiglass and some LED's. Both of which can be found at your local hardware store. You will also need a 12V AC adpater. The light reflects all through the plexiglass, and the result is quite awesome!

Number 3: A neat LED sign made by using the same AC adapter as before, and adding lights behind text on a sheet of floor wood.

3:06 should put a layer of epoxy over the light strips and such on the bottom, leaving the battery pack removable for obvious reasons, but It would allow you to still fully use the skateboard and not worry about ripping your lights going down a rail grind or something. Neat idea. Not to mention the epoxy would cause the light to spread and appear differently. Likely a very cool "hoverboard" effect.

4:43 another way to do the same, is the way you did with the acrylic plexiglass, take a layer of it behind the wood, then put your lights the same as the "you are awesome" base has them throwing the light upwards, if you use a bit of "heating and cooling" air ducting tape (metallic tape with a Very sticky film backing) on the edges where you dont put light strips it will reflect the light back for a more uniform look without the hot spots from seeing the individual led's.
