I read the book many years ago and enjoyed it very much. I recently watched this adaptation. I think if the producers stuck to the original story this would have been a far better movie. I have no issues at all with the cast. All of the actors did well in their roles. My problem is that this script is so far from the source material as to render the movie unbelievable, more expensive, and far less entertaining than it would have been if they just stuck to the cannon. And please don't make this into a color thing. As I stated, the casting is fine. The creators blew it with the really BAD story that has nothing to do with the book.

Seriously were they scared to do the real set up from the Novel. FML. Wife tragically dies he's depressed finds solace in a prostitute who is murdered by her pimps/drug dealers. He goes after them. That's what's supposed to happen. Instead we get some B.S generic revenge plot. Wife murdered in home invasion like we haven't seen that before.
