Bob, I just spoke with Mr Geist. He is still having problems with his website and he asked that everyone be patient. I did however get my jig ordered. Looking forward to cutting new blanks. You suggested using it in many different ways. Thank you for the information on new Products. Thank you for sharing how to set it up.

Thanks Bob, I called Tim, as you suggested. Boy did he send me a great deal. I got this cutting jig, centerless bushings, and the pen sanding jig. My wife said I couldn’t call for awhile now. (Time out for me) But I’m in the shop.😃

Thank you for showing this jig and it’s nice to see new videos. I am sure you are happy to be spending some time in the shop. Just a thought. I made my own version and made a second block to put on the backside of the spacer to hold the spacer tight against the tube. It keeps the spacer in place better and when doing multiple cuts with the same tube the setup stays in place better. (P.s. my first ever you tube comment)

Great Jig! Just contacted Tim and ordered one. Was looking at the Penn State Industries jig on YouTube and your video popped up. Glad it did as this jig is smaller and more efficient, very clever! And I like to support local made in USA businesses, I would guess the PSI jig is made overseas! Enjoy your channel, must have missed this video of 2 years ago! :-)

Tim Geist makes good pen making tools. I may buy this blank cutting jig, although I've managed to do quite nicely just cutting the blanks freehand on my bandsaw. I do hobby work one pen at a time once in a long while and thus cutting speed isn't important. I also have a Tim Geist copy of the Paul Huffman pen drilling vise. I like the Geist copy a little better because the threads are smoother and have less slop and the jaws have greater capacity.

A really neat jig, really like that you use your mitre gauge to lock the jig in place. Price is Ok but shipping to the UK is expensive. Will need to make one myself. I like the track that Tim has used so you can position blocks on both sides, do you know what this track is called?
