"Out Of Sight" - James Brown (1964)
Written by James Brown under the pseudonym "Ted Wright".
Brown's first recording on which saxophonist Maceo Parker played.
He got in trouble for releasing "Out of Sight" on the Smash label because he was under contract to his main label "King". It was also the last song he would record for over a year, as the court's ruling in his dispute with King barred him from making vocal recordings for Smash.
From is autobiography:" "Out of Sight" was another beginning, musically and professionally. My music - and most music - changed with "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag", but it really started on "Out of Sight" ... You can hear the band and me start to move in a whole other direction rhythmically. I was trying to get every aspect of the production to contribute to the rhythmic patterns".

That song got me into R & B in the 60’s and I’ve never looked back..Another song that confirmed my love for soul music was Harlem Shuffle. I would listen to it and visualize the streets of Harlem on a hot summer day and see the hip and cool residents doing the shuffle..I’m 72 and I still love R & B today.. Sadly most of the artists of that era have passed away..

I was about 12 years old when this hit the airwaves. Could not deny something new was float and oddly infectious. Im 67 years old now and now it makes sense: its all on the "one".

You got your high-heeled sneakers on
Slip-in mules
You got your high-heeled sneakers on
And your slip-in mules
You're more than alright
You know you're out of sight
You got a shapely figure mama
That's keepin' me uptight
You got a shapely figure mama
And keep me uptight
You're too much
You know you're out of sight

Hey, the way you do the things you do
The way you kiss me too
The way you do the things you do
The way you kiss me too
A heart delight, that's what you are
You know you're out of sight

Ho, hey, hey

You got a sweet disposition
Ho, you're always right
You got a sweet disposition
You know you're always right
You know just what you're doin' baby
You know you're out of sight

Ow, you're too much
You're the end
You're so hip baby
You know just where it's at
You're beautiful mama
Most of all, you're honest
There's no doubt, you're out of sight
Out of sight, whoo, wee
Out of sight

I saw JB live in Nashville in 1967 - the best live performance that I've attended.

I grew up in atime when James Brown & The Famous Flames were performing Live, all they're music sounded "Outta Sight" & "Night Train" but "Ohh Baby Don't You Weep" came out before "Prison of Love" I heard of that album at My friends house it was his sister's album the Vidales's home in the Westside, Riva, Califas.

This was one of those time in the 60s when an artist went into the studio and when he came out music had changed. Another was Jeff Beck's first Yardbirds session.

If you put the playback speed at x1.25 it's like the tempo in the live performance.

Some people think that cold sweat was his first major hit. Actually this preceeded it. Also I think that this came before I feel good and papa's got a brand new bag and I can't stand it
