One of the many great things about the Typhoon II is Super Cruise: It was the first fighter to be able to sustain airspeed exceeding 1 Mach without the use of afterburner... So actually the afterburner (or reheat as we call it over here) is rarely necessary and can be saved for high acceleration scenarios

Back in the Vietnam War, we had F-4Es with fifteen five-hundred-pound bombs hanging and a full array of air-to-air missiles, from engine start to finding and hitting a tanker, twelve to fifteen minutes. Now once on the tanker, they had to let everyone take on some fuel but now a full load, repeating until everyone had a full load of fuel. If they let one take a full load, someone else was playing brick glider, out of fuel. That was somewhere around 2000 gallons of fuel at ramp fueling.

This is a trick question because it depends on if it has to take off, its rate of climb (if it does have to take off) as well as it's altitude while burning.
