High Flop Shots

Hey Quite The Chap here for GolfersRX…have you ever hit a high flop shot that only made it as high as the ankle of a playing partner across the green…in todays video.

We’ve all seen the PGA Tour pros hit these high flop shots that land like a kitten on a pile of Charmin Ultra Soft…irresistibly soft. We all want to hit this shot but we have a hard time. Fact is we usually begin to resemble the Tin Man when we attempt this…we get super tense.

Think of the flop shot like slapping the top of a table.
- our wrists cocks
- we slap the table
- our wrist releases

So just think of hitting a flop shot like slapping the grass (slap the grass)
- cock the wrists
- slap the grass
- release the wrists

If you take a look at Freddy Couples hit this shot you’ll see how soft and relaxed his wrists are throughout his swing. He really just brings the club down and slaps the grass.
