some beautiful bars my friend!! so cool that different wood does different things and it doesn't burn straight through it but they both came out absolutely awesome I know I watch this before it's old but good trying to study as much as I can from you guys so when I start pouring at least no a thing or two .. thanks bear

Wow! both great looking unique bars, the violent reaction will obviously differ from each wood depending on the moisture content. possibly explosive and Unpredictable so keep the safety glasses and on as a minimum and full body protection as a recommendation.

Just a question that came to me a couple minutes ago. Have you thought about trying petrified wood? I have no idea how expensive petrified wood is, and if it would work, but pretty sure it would work better than regular wood I don't know though.
