“Not a single person asked for it, but were gonna do it anyway” in my opinion, this channel is the type of thing we didn’t know we needed but once we have it something we do.

I don’t think I’ve ever had a creator go “hey if you can’t afford the merch, it’s ok don’t stretch yourself, your views are more than enough support”
It is a sort of wholesomeness that my broke ass needed
It just makes me want to buy merch from you more, I’m coming for your merch store after I get this job

As a learning jazz pianist I’m so grateful for this channel for not only clarifying these concepts but doing it in such a fun and clear way. Please keep this channel going because it’s amazing.

PLEASE MAKE MORE OF THESE
As a teen who's been playing classical for 10 years, I learned the theory but not how to apply it. I'm trying to make the switch to jazz (it just seems so much more fun), and, during quarantine, videos online have been my only source of guidance. Thank you so much!

As someone who is musically illiterate but loves listening to music, this is great.

Looking at the keyboard in reverse is kinda confusing.

I’ve been playing for over 8 years - unfortunately self-taught. And I have never understood this concept until this video came out. Honestly Chris, thank you. I struggle with a learning disability, and having so many piano teachers fail me dissuaded me from fully falling in love with piano. But in a little over fifteen minute, you’ve managed to spark that musical ember. Thank you dude.

I'm really happy you're doing music theory for people. One thing that might help is a keyboard cam? like a cam from above. As a pianist I keep having to mentally flip it aha

Sir, as a teacher as well (not a music teacher though) I have to say that what you did there was just brilliant. I have never before seen such concepts being explained in such a clear and smooth way as you did. Charles we have no doubt you are a great musician, but I am sure to say you are a incredible teacher as well. Last but not least, I cannot afford much for now but congrats on your merch, I will definitely keep an eye on it and get myself a piece as soon as things smooth up a bit in here. Have a great one, mate (:

I still relatively new to music, and this is probably the best example of teaching chord voicing. It seems to be something that a lot of teachers take for granted, where they just go all over the piano, and I'm just like "whoa, there!". I have a hard time imagining chords as anything other than triads within one octave. I never know when to spread it out, and where to place voicings

I would love a brief music theory series from you. Going over all the keys, leading and common tones, all that stuff. I really love your stuff
Looking forward to wearing the hoodie!

I usually don’t buy YouTuber merch because it’s too specific to the youtuber but your merch actually just looks sick and I’ll definitely check it out

I really want to take a second to just appreciate how Charles discusses monetization elements of his channel. Telling us not to stretch ourselves too thin, and that watching the videos alone is support enough, and even the way he introduces and thanks sponsors. Not just annoying statements like COP THE NEW MERCH and OUR SPONSOR FOR TODAY IS... You are one of the most mature YouTubers when it comes to these things and you really make it feel like you are humbled by your massive growth over the past year and it is just so very refreshing.

Thanks, Charles!

I knew that 2-5-1 was a very popular progression, but I did NOT know you could use it to move between different scales! Honestly music makes a lot more sense now! I can't believe it took me so long to learn this... Thank you!
