I thought the goatie worked very well on the small canon and the photos of the sunset and swan were outstanding.
Can you plug an external mic into the powershot?

good fun to play with new settings, if the camera can take multiple shots with different exposure settings you should check out Photomatix software, it enables you to manipulate pictures using the full dynamic range and the results can be incredible

no i noticed it too, the image stabilizing system cant keep up with the vibrations of the van, it kinda has a odd wavy look to it. it could also be the camera is too heavy for the windscreen mount.

Hi Rick really enjoyed the time lapse, nice photo's with the still camera, you will have to sort out the vibration on the new camera while driving.Overhaul a nice video.

Interesting he trouble focusing on those clouds at 9:11 . 13:40 clearly shows the biggest problems with all SLR's and point and shoot Bridge cameras. The shaky pictures when filming horizontally is called Rolling Shutter Effect and I just detest that jittery picture. Apparently they film at 60 Hz which is just not good enough for fast action.

Hi Rick, very nice video. I love the quality of the Canon, especially the horses pictures in the sun, at the end of the video. Considering the distance they are, great result !
I have to say that maybe the digital zoom blurry out things a little bit, but now always, I think it depends on the light and on how the light (or lack of it) affects autofocus work with such a long zoom.

Well Rick, you took some nice stills but the IQ from the tiny video camera art just awesome.

I think the decent quality you get out of these cameras gives you the maximum amount of creative freedom, as well as the multi-camera opportunities. A basic instructional video is much easier to do with two cameras, for example.

Further to that, you could easily do a much longer filming session with two cameras and their respective power sources if you were just using one at a time.

When you put the little goatees on your website I'll buy one, it works great. I think you've made a good decision on the cameras, health to enjoy.
