How to repair leaded glass window

This type of on-site repair is done for time and money and not the most professional repair. The correct way to fix a leaded glass window is in a shop and on a flat surface to completly disassemble area of concern. I did this leaded glass window on the hottest day of the year in San Juan Capistrano south Orange County California. I love my job and Would like to give a shout to Lindsay for tagging along with me to make this video. Thanks world James Jones on instagram @quartermexican

Wish you were in my neighborhood. As usual, everyone wants to charge me a new motorcycle when they pull up to the property, when in fact, this is exactly the repair I would prefer!

When he cut the came I thought "OK, not seen this technique before, how does it get refinished?" The timeline was running down fast, still no lead being replaced, then BAM!. Glue it? WTF?

Holy bodge job Batman. I particularly like the way you have absolutely no regard for your own health. Airborne ground Don't do this at home kids, or anywhere else. Arse Glass more like.

As a professional stained glass worker for over 40 years I can tell you that you should never repair a genuine leaded panel this way. What a mess

I'm a bit confused. You glue it back? But what about the lead channel, and the soldering and puttying? Would have been nice to see the entire thing.

I don't know about First Glass, you'd be the Last Lass company I'd ask. You've ruined the panel and will no doubt use silicone on the lead you cut out.

Wrong wrong wrong, why do people that don’t know what they are doing try to teach ? It’s the old those that can do it do it and those that can’t teach 😂

Please viewers, do NOT do this at home, or anywhere else for that matter.  Firstly -- Cutting glass while it's resting on your thighs is totally fu... foolhardy at best.  Next -- "A little bit of glue and that's it!" What?  No, you shouldn't glue it.  Then -- What about replacing the lead came you ripped out?  At least finish it off with some stick on lead if you can't/aren't allowed to do the job right.

If you care about your company's reputation, or your own, you really should change your title to say "How I did a leaded window 'repair' on the cheap..." and edit your blurb to mention that this is NOT the right way, but the customer was too cheap to get it repaired properly and didn't care how it looked or functioned afterwards.  As it stands this video just makes you and your company look really bad.

Oh, and a minor point -- Unfortunately the added (unnecessary) filler music is much LOUDER than your recorded voice, not that it really matters.
