Episode 1 of PvP civilization: "Oh boy, I hope I can survive with the last 3 hits of my wooden sword"
Episode 4 of PvP civilization: "We're gonna kill you over and over again so we can achieve immortality"

This might be cope, but I'm getting this odd feeling that the fourth wall breaks happening more often could be integral to the story. I don't know why, or for what reason, but PVP Evbo drops those comments too often for it to NOT be important. My running theory so far is that something is happening to him with each respawn—or it's simply the trauma from dying and coming back to life—that's sapping his sanity. Those video journals might have something to do with it as well, assuming they were set up for more than just Parrot learning about Evbo being the chosen one.

If this really is what's going on or not, it doesn't matter much to me. I definitely agree with some comments saying that the fourth wall stuff is getting excessive—honestly, they don't always land—but there's nothing wrong with that. PVP Civ immediately felt like a different style of writing and humour from Parkour Civ, and whether or not that was intentional is something that's to be seen as the series continues. It's a lot of pressure trying to recapture what worked the first time (for any creator who finds something successful), and it's a lot of pressure trying to meet audience expectations when they're basing it on a previous work that may be very different from what's being made currently. I'll keep tuning in either way, because I know that Evbo is able to make something amazing out of this concept. To everyone working on this project, I wish you all the best 🫶

Man, these civilisation series are actually addicting. Great job, evbo!!

Evbo in Parkour Civilization: Spider-Man (With great power comes great responsibility)
Evbo in PvP civilization: Deadpool (fourth wall breaks galore, shopping addiction, tries to find love and doesn't use his power responsibly)

Making a call now: The armor stand next to the bed is a red herring and the video journal recorder is actually the thing giving him immortality by "saving" his progress, and the reason he's the chosen one is because no one else has bought one

I can't wait to see Evbo win the series with a backwards 360° critical hit

i really appreciate the added focus on acting here, pvp-evbo really feels like a character with quirks and personality rather than just your youtube persona put into a protagonist role like parkour-evbo often did. i dont think the 4th wall breaks are that bad personally, im choosing to read them as maybe this evbo having once been into film/storytelling before ending up in this civilization and being able to call out things like literary tropes and audience expectations because of it

y'know depending on how many people are in this civilization, they could probably have made farming evbo for swords a job with actual hours. like he does his 9-5 being farmed for swords, then when he hits his sword quota he could have free time for the rest of the day.
if that was offered, how could he refuse? knowing he's making everyone else immortal but can still pursue his goals. basically what i'm saying is that with an application of logistics, he could *both* give everyone a functional immortality *and* pursue his escape journey at the same time. based on everything we know. it seems to add up.

since an iron sword lasts for many days, by prioritizing those with low durability, he probably doesn't need to farm swords for every single citizens. just a handful of them per day. that depends on how many citizens there are exactly but there can't be more than 100 and a single farming cycle can't last that long.

edit: if he starts spawning with a gold sword, people should still be able to buy expensive houses that exceed the standard cost that a golden sword is able to pay. he could do this by dropping them his sword while they're in the middle of a transaction, respawning and then walking back to their store and doing it again, until they've paid for their item.
this way, even a max 70 durability swords would still be able pay for 200+ durability items. as there's no limit to how long someone can wait in between swings during a transaction. so they can pay until they're close to zero and then wait a few minutes for evbo to come back.

edit 2: this isn't really criticism. i think their actions make sense and it would actually be a bit out of character for that faction to set up a perfect operation like this.
they are distrusting, they only know violence and survival. they are desperate and many are superstitious. for their plan to involve enslaving him, without freedom or consideration, makes sense.

Biiig disagree with everyone finding it too meta or fourth wall breaky. There's something insane about this series, like come on, the very main thing keeping our protagonist alive is a literal plot armor stand. Our protagonist is essentially an immortal god (not in the Christian One God sense, more in the mythology immortal yet not all-powerful, all-knowing god) and this entire series to me is essentially "what if a god had no idea he was a god". There's also the way too casual references to parkour civilization which probably mean something. I have great trust in Evbo as a writer, i say simply let him cook

I kinda love that Evbo’s character is different in this series from the parkour one. It shows that it is a different character, and it makes it so it’s not repetitive (plus he’s funny asf in this series LOL)

honestly liking this series writing, a bit too many meta commentary for my liking but i'm really invested in the story!!

This episode was pretty meta. I normally don't like meta jokes, but the sharp increase makes me think that it's not just a self depricating jab or something. I've had a theory since the first episode that the video recorder is actually what's making Evbo immortal and the armor stand is a red herring. The series has been meta the entire time. Evbo is the only one in PvP Civilization that is putting up a show for an unknown audience, and that audience wants to see him succeed so they will keep bringing him back

theory: parrot is the real chosen one, how else would he know about the gold sword durability

I have a theory. Parrot is the ruler of PVP civilization and he does not want anyone to get down there. He will turn against Evbo in the final episode. You heard it here first.

Evbo in parkour civilization: "I might have been created at the bottom and set up to fail but using nothing but my wit and insane parkour skills I know I can become the best and make the world a fair place for everyone!"
Evbo in PVP civilization: "I have magic powers and stupidity, I will use mainly my stupidity to escape and marry the love of my life who is not just the only women I've ever seen in my life."

Assuming Evbo is the "first" one to make it to gold, I think thats just a red herring and there's a bunch of people in Diamond.
