Many guitar teachers tell you to ignore the 7th chord of your key, the half-diminished chord, because it's trickier to use, it's the only chord that's not Major nor minor, and it doesn't appear very often in pop songs or beginner songs.

But the problem is that once people go past the beginner stage, they never learn how to use the half-diminished chord musically (and there are a lot of cool things we can do with it!).

In this lesson, I am teaching 5 different ways you can use the half-diminished chord musically on guitar.

2:44 Way #1 to use Half-Diminished chords musically
5:56 Way #2 to use Half-Diminished chords musically
7:36 Way #3 to use Half-Diminished chords musically

3:06 in the minor scale, the 6 can only be at the interval position that is 9 half steps above the tonic. It is just the 6th scale degree in minor, it is not the flat 6.

Yes, well explained. Simple enough that I can understand it, and with enough little memory tricks to help memorise it

Salut Antoine,

J’ignorais que tu étais souffrant !
Rien de trop grave, j’espère.?.
Prends bien soin de toi surtout.

See you…
