Hi Steve, . I have that toolpost and just love it. I do find my toolholder stock is slowly growing as the more frequently used tools are so nice to have. It would be hard to go back now. Sure glad you are back now as I enjoy so much watching your videos. I always learn something and the time goes so quickly when your videos are on. Really looking forward to the next ones. Thanks so much.

I have the 250-000 coming on Thursday for my Chinese mini-lathe, can't wait to upgrade from the standard toolpost.

Hi Steve. Thanks for your videos I have watched most of the Myford ones as I have a ML7R.I have just purchased the 250-101 gib tool post and 8 holders. I made a block like yours to mount on the cross slide, as the Compound is too high. and using 12mm tools. this works really well. Also made a nut and lever handle to replace the top nut which was 14x 1.5mm on my post
It make machining a lot more rigid. I am still keeping the Dixon will be good for smaller work.

Love watching you work on the Myford. I like how they look. Wouldn’t mind owning one, but pretty rare find in the states in my experience. Nice review, thanks for sharing.

Thank you. I just learned more about QCTP's than all the knowledge I had before the video. (Still using a regular Chinese lathe tool post.)

Chhers for posting this Steve. I have the same 111 toolpost and am going to have a go at copying your mounting plate.
Can I check why you opted to bore the recess and turn down the original baseplate to fit? Wouldn't it have been easier to tap the hole in your mount to accept the post directly?

Hi Steve. I bought the same tool post. It all works great but, on mine the centre bolt is smaller on the old piston type for some reason! I’m not in the shed right now to measure the old one but the new one is 9/16 18tpi. No great problem but maybe worth mentioning. Thanks for the video👍

I'm not a machinist by any stretch, and my knowledge is not the best, but I do play around with my Harbor Freight 8x12 bench top lathe.
I would like to upgrade my tool post to a quick change post like these but am unsure which one is needed as a direct swap out to the original.
I also want to install a larger chuck but I'm unsure exactly what I need to purchase to accomplish these changes, any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thank You.

There are also 250-101-xl holders that will hold 5/8" or 15.8mm.

Great Video Steve. Really helpful.

I spied a brake disc at the end of the Lathe..could you shed some light on this? or maybe a link to it previously?
Thanks. J.

Hi Steve, I really like the way you explain and do the stuff that u do. Is this an extension of a working life in engineering?

Hello Steve,
thank you for your great videos! Can you tell me, if the threadings of the tools (brass knob and fixing screws) are made in metric or in inch size? :-)
