When Did Danny Ainge Know It Was Time?

Former Celtics President of Operations Danny Ainge lied to longtime Boston Globe reporter, Dan Shaughnessy when he first told him he was not leaving the Celtics. Not too long after the season ended for the team, it was announced that Ainge was stepping down. It was his time when the writing was on the wall before the trade deadline that Kyrie was leaving, he should have flipped him. The writing on the wall became bolder when he panicked and signed Kemba instead of spreading the budget around to guys like Brogdon or Terry and some bench pieces. He should have been fired last off season when he fumbled that rumored Indy trade for Hayward then putting us in cap hell scape with nothing but 2 max players and a bunch of untradeable rookie contracts and making no trade deadline moves every year for the last 3 or 4 years, he peaked in 2017 then he fell off the cliff hard and fast.

Danny probably found out after Kyrie left for nothing they’d be looking for his replacement. More realistically though, he probably found out after Tatum’s draft. Many of his drafts looked sabotaged… the drafts after Tatum picking Payton Pritchard, Nesmith and Romeo were absolutely horrible, maimed and butchered picks. They were several players in those drafts around three who were absolute LOCKS & Danny just “seems” to have missed. Drafting Olynyk over Giannis. The goof up bringing Kelly “Woodstock” Olynyk to the meeting with Kevin Durant was misplayed HEAVILY seeing that they hate each other for Kelly’s dirtiness on the court and still do today. Having the nerve to trade Isaiah after lost his sister & played hurt for you scoring 55pts carrying our below average roster to the east finals twice. Giving up the top pick in a draft where we could’ve had Michael Porter Jr or Colin Sexton for Irving, , , whom you let go for nothing. Also trading Mr Consistency Jae Crowder because you were signing Mr Hurt every other game Gordon Hayward. Letting rumors of you shopping Ray around the league get out. Not going over budget to bring back the 08 roster back.
