All the variants including the 2006 Blu-ray version all in one comparison.
But i didn't include the 2001-2002 music versions.

What I know:
Top Left - The first version of the logo. Used on ‘The Lost World: Jurassic Park’.
Top Middle / Top Right - Slight differences, but overall similar to the first version, used on Home Entertainment DVDs.
Middle Left - Same as above pretty much, but in 4:3 instead.
Middle / Middle Right - URL added, numerous versions with the URL in different positions. Used on movies mainly during the early 200s.
Bottom Left - URL updated, once again the position of the URL can vary. Used in movies during around the late 2000s, and also plasters other Universal logos on certain movies (such as ‘Bean’).
Bottom Middle - Same fanfare but the new animation. Used on Blu-Ray releases I think. HD-DVD had a slightly different logo.
Bottom Right - The last version of the 2012 logo. Used on some movies produced between 2009-2012, including ‘Despicable Me’.

The logo begins with light shining through an arc, with more lights beaming in the foreground. We see the beams rolling away from us as more begin peering out, revealing that this is a globe and the light was coming out of land masses. Pulling away, the light from Asia spreads to Africa and Europe and 3D lettering reading "UNIVERSAL" curls around the globe. The beams from the land masses dissipate, revealing the full globe evenly lit in front of a white light, possibly the Sun, as the Earth and letters are centered on a black star field, the Americas facing us on the rotating globe.
