After multiple successful tests in collaboration with our partners of the project “Advanced Manufacturing Logistics”, we decided to implement the AMR (autonomous mobile robot) on our factory floor.
Autonomous mobile robot (AMR)
Over the last few years, we have collaborated with the Technische Universiteit Eindhoven to investigate the economic/financial feasibility, optimal planning, industrial impact, and resource management (battery) of AMR.
This research is ongoing, and in the meantime, we are trying to test these concepts in digital twins. The models are used to evaluate industrial elements (such as planning, discrete-event simulations), as well as mechatronic elements (prototyping).
The implementation is a good first step, but we will stay alert to take the competences and deployment range of our employees and machines to the next level.
