That big hog has a name, the Ancient Hoglin. It first appeared in the board game Portal Dash as a 'boss' despite being from Legends.

has anyone else noticed that there's less lava in the nether here? in the nether, you never find flat areas like this.

personal theory: the piglins were trying to invade the overworld because the lava lakes in the nether are rising, so they may need a new home soon. after all, take out all the lava in the nether and it looks similar to this area. not to mention ruined portals in the nether are often found partly submerged in lava.
