Every single piece of info I can find on his dad is nothing but glowingly positive. He was clearly held very high in the chess community. It says a lot when people are spoken of with that level respect while they’re alive. It’s normally a filter reserved for icons of the past. Impressive

Andrew's fighting style is similar to his father's chess style.

I have never known love from my father, but I hope my sons remember me like Tate remembers his father.

The way he loved and admired his pops is so evident. One can see the real man when he’s talking about his dad.

All or nothing. I love it. Your pops was the kind of guy to either get a first round KO or get starched. Exciting man.

It's true. I remember one night in Washington Square Park in the 90's when Emory Tate walks up with a beer in a paper bag. He sits down and starts showing a recent game he played against Yudasin, who was a grandmaster at the time. Emory just kept attacking him in the most creative way. I was thinking this guy is either crazy or a genius or both...If you're into chess, look up Tate-Yudasin 1997... the game is unbelievable.

OMFG.! I knew the Tate name was familiar. I was huge into chess as a kid and even went to a couple tournaments. Long live E.T.!

His dad scares me more than him just from his pure unrivalled intellect and skill his father is one of the best chess players ever and he obviously instilled his values and views in his sons so he was them but intellectually superior and have u seen what they have done to the internet and the world they have taken over the internet it truly does concern me on how strong their family has been
Both mentally and physically

He wins my respect just like that. Its a really admirable quality when a son has so much love and respect for his father. In modern world, father has no value, they are treated like shit.

He straight up said, " if I can't win, then I'm taking as many with me"

“He’ll just come at you with everything” 🤨

Based on how you describe your father playing chess, he was an honorable person.

You can see the difference in his face, the animation he always has when he speaks about his father. That is how all dads want to be remembered by their children.

my dad was big al and he was known by every man in our area for being a pleasant mountain of a man. I used to watch him delivering beer kegs in our town and there was two neighbors that got beer at the same time and he would carry two kegs to there door steps at the same time and they would struggle to get them into their house alone. He was a great Father coach and role model. 1 of the best pieces of advice he gave me " nothing will beat u down harder than life itself and made a man by protecting and being the bridge that helps ur family through hard times. He was adopted and took care of his family the best he could till he passed away.
