Cody's Mine Part 20: Spider in the Hole!

My great grandfather was a "rainbow chaser", a Death Valley prospector during the final gold rush. He stayed behind in the desert when everyone left, and the surrounding mining camps like Harrisville, Rhyolite and Ballarat became abandoned Ghost towns. He lived in the empty ramshackle buildings, he was best friends with the legendary desert rat named Seldom Seen Slim. They burried my great grandfather in Trona, CA with his pick axe. His tombstone reads "Gone to His Gold Mine in the Sky." You keep those old timers' spirits alive everytime you chizzle that rock and lay some explosive, brother. Oh and also, his son (my grandfather) was born and raised in Utah, he mined in Bingham Canyon.

And my cousin Monte is the guy who owned the "Sleeping Beauty" Turquoise mine in Globe, AZ as well!

Idea for future video: Put some like seismic sensors in the ground above to measure the power of the explosives you make and maybe try and use the seismic waves from the explosions to make a map of the mine (if thats even possible)

And I hope we get to see a homemade Cody's Lab branded blasting machine sometime in the future. Thanks for all the great videos!

At least, the one I saw in the video looked like that to me.
