U.S. State Department says Taliban released two Americans detained in Afghanistan

Staying in Afghanistan, two Americans detained earlier this year by the Taliban were released on Tuesday.
According to U.S. State Department spokesperson Ned Price, the release of the two Americans appears to be a "goodwill gesture" by the Taliban.
However, Price stressed that the release was not a prisoner or detainee swap, and no money exchanged hands.
One of the Americans is filmmaker Ivor Shearer, who was arrested in August this year, while filming in Kabul, while the name of the second American is being withheld at the family's request.
