Just got fitted yesterday with new hearing aids. It’s been a long time, it turned out, since I had heard a full range of frequencies. Had forgotten how nice my modest 5.1 audio system sounded. I am enjoying your videos both before and after the new aids. Maybe not so relevant to your channel, but might encourage someone to get a test, or a retest. These aids were not so expensive and have a lot of automatic adjustment for changing conditions. Sound is important for all of us and loss can be gradual so we don’t realize our deficit.

As a long retired sound guy (Dubbing Asst and Editor), worked on movies such as the 'Carry On Series' as an Assistant Dubbing Editor in those days.Really enjoing your videos, and planning to play around with field recording.Bought a Tascam DR-100 Mk 2 and some odd microphones.... shall continue to follow you. I actually enjoy sound more than Camera !

Never before this was explained more accurate. I wash had these words at hand when I was running around as a child with my cassette recorder to record „the living room“, „school“ or whatever. But even now most people wouldn’t get it. Photography or Videography is for everybody, the magic of Phonography that evokes an absolutely special kind of immersion seems not to work for too many people.

Wow. That may be the deepest origin story for a YouTube channel name in history. Congratulations sir. Subscribed.

Love the time preservation explanation here. Never considered old audio bringing us back to that exact moment, but realized it’s actually more of an audio trip than visual, for me, anyway. Thanks for another great vid!

Happy to see the beginning of this series... primarily a photographer/videographer but a recent trip that included a small foray into field recording so emphasized the importance of good sound in telling a better story that I took a swan dive into the field recording rabbit hole. Happy to garner some good advice from what you share!

This is amazing. I can’t wait to look for more videos in this series. I just found it today. I have a zoom A1 essentials recorder, which just came out in January or February 2024 and a bit of small recording gear so this is going to be perfect for me as I have been interested in dabbling in this for years and just have recently had the time to do it. Thanks so much forthe video and look forward to chatting with you about this. Have a great day.

You sir are amazing and your timing couldn´t be better. I just tried two days ago my first "cicadas in the morning" sound field recording....with questionable success 😂 I have been following you from the beginning but now, you have an eager follower. Thanks again for you effort and generosity 🤙💪

I´ve started with the zoom H4n pro and switched to the Zoom F3 32Bit Recorder. Absolutley love it, that fast start time, it´s size and don´t worry about Gain so much. Just Power on and ready to go. So nice if you out on a Hike and Recording Stuff
I using it with my LOM Basic Ucho, Geofon, Clippy EM272, Rode M5, Synco D2 (Sennheiser MKH 416 Replica) Microphones

Awesome video! Really looking forward to more episodes about field recording. I've been dabbling with it on and off for a while, but lately I've become increasingly addicted to pressing that record button. So much to learn and explore!
