They are not easy, more examples would probably help, watching it more than once would probably also help.

In a mock exam I got given the algebraic fraction 4/x+3 + 3/2x-1 = 1. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if x is 0.5. When I put it into the equation I got 1.142857 reoccurring, does this mean I'm incorrect?

I'm slightly confused, you know how you multiplied by the denominator (x+4) which you did to both sides so 28 became 28(x+4) how come you didn't also multiply the denominator of 28 by x+4 so that it becomes (x-1) (x+4) from as far back as I remember I was taught whatever you do to the numerator you do to the denominator
