• There are lots of things to do in Guadalajara, Mexico, and lots of ways to get around the city. In this Mexico travel video, I show how to use the Guadalajara metro rail system — and more specifically, Linea 3, or Line 3, the newest line in the MiTren rail network. If you're into budget travel in Mexico and also like modern, efficient mass transit, then this is a great option for visiting the city. I show where to buy the card, how much it costs to take the Guadalajara metro and where the Guadalajara metro goes.

Much appreciated video. In GDL right now and tried getting on the train the other day but had no idea what to do once I got to the machines, let alone how to enter the station afterwards. 😂

Thank you so much for posting this video! I'm heading to GDL next month for the first time and I appreciate the walkthrough on getting a tarjeta. (Step-by-step transit videos like this are so valuable for any destination.) When you put the $40 in, I noticed it said that your balance was $10. Does that mean the card itself costs $30 and then you add on however much you want?

Thanks for the video, I'm going to Guadalajara in July, staying in Tlaquepaque, so it looks like there is a metro stop near there. I like to use local public transportation, and so far have only used buses near Guadalajara, so I'm excited to try out the metro

It's worth mentioning there's also a option for a single trip for 9.50 (the machine prints a QR ticket) instead of the refillable card.

Thanks! Do you know if the ticket machine takes credit cards? I would assume not, but thought I would ask anyway.

Does the system allow you to tap and pay with your credit card instead of having to buy a card? Thanks!

Anyone knows where can I get the metro card now? Traveled along line 3 today, checked dozens of vending machine within at least 4 stations including the east-end bus station, none green button available. More than half of those machines even dont have blue button for paper ticket. Thanks

Thank you for the video. I want to know where do I catch the bus to Manzanillo from Guadalajara airport? Do they have a bus from the airport? I read on the web 16 years ago people have to take a taxi or shuttle service from the airport to the bus terminal? Which bus terminal is closest to Guadalajara's Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla International Airport and does the bus depart from La Central Camionera de Zapopan or Central de Autobuses de Guadalajara, Nueva Central Camionera. If anyone knows, pls let me know. Thank you!

Even for spanish speakers like me, it's a bit difficult to get a ticket for the subway/LRT. Same with the Macrobus (BRT Buses).

i’ve taken 4 individual trips, so 2 round trip rides. it has cost me $6 USD. i’m not sure why all the information i read on the internet says it’s way cheaper than that.
