You can understand why philosophy began in Greece. The starkness of the light, the vast emptiness of the land, and the intense hues of the sea and sky encourages the mind to wonder endlessly. It really is like no other place. I could sit on a rock in Greece and contemplate the cosmos for days! Thanks for encouraging us all to dream Gabriel!

Whoever says "Greek islands all look the same" or "Greek islands seem boring" doesn't have the slightest interest in history and obviously will give more value to the shallow( more superficially/aesthetically pleasing) destinations such as the Caribeen or Maldives that can't even be compared with Greece in the historical aspect. I fully subscribe to prefer Greece over those destinations because Greece has amazing beaches and much more than other places. Thanks for the video.

You forgot to talk about the smells of the plants. Amazing sage, fennel, and others mixed together blowing in the winds. Smells amazing on the Greek islands.

The restaurant at the end there; that is what Greece gets right in my opinion. Simplicity, yet charming and authentic. The quality of the food is on point & there’s a pleasing, calming aesthetic with the natural surroundings framed by the mature palm trees.

No sign of cheap, tacky, plastic chairs or the like anywhere & all the better for it creating a relaxing space to pause and dine.

Delightful.

I couldn’t agree more with Gab with his description of Greece.. I prefer it to other Med countries like Spain.. Greece is more poor and simple and basic but I find that more attractive. The blue and white villages with narrow streets, the music, and basic but tasty food. Very relaxing to sit in a village square with a beer and tasty food.

I loved Greece when I was there and want to go again. I've only seen 6 of the islands, so many more to go! I also like to try the beers of every place I visit. My favorite in Greece was Fix, and the volcanic beer on Santorini was good, too.

I totally agree with you! I love Greece and it's my fav place. I have been visiting since the 80s and I never get bored, so I try to travel to Hellas whenever I can. I am planning to visit Andros next year and maybe Tinos. I usually go to Naxos, Amorgos and the smaller Cyclades, but thee ferry from Mykonos (where I am planning to land) seem to be very expensive, so Andros and Tinos can be my next destination. I think that the wind mills where built to grind the wheat with a grind stone moved by the wind force. The increase in price depends on the fact that Greece entered in the EU and was forced to pay huge amount of money to EU and so the people were gettimg poorer and poorer. They rely on tourism and they don't have many other resources. About the accomodations I never use Booking as it's not usually convenient. I use Booking to search for accomodations and then I contact the owners directy and just book the place sending like a night or two nights deposit. And maybe being in September maybe you can just arrive in one place and search for accomodation, which is not ideal, but maybe is less expensive! I have never been to Samothraki but it seem to be very interesting. I have been to Thasos in the 80s and it's very beautiful. I remember the beach of Alyki that has transparent sea and a cave under the sea. The island is green as there are water, trees and shrubs. It's not cycladic style, but it's moree similar to the settlements in the mainland. Kalò Taxidi! Paola

40 euros or less per room throughout the entire Greece no matter 10 or 20 years ago or at present - that's the price and always been, the key is though you have to ask locals on the place, not in advance on bookings you know, just drop unannounced in whatever town and ask locals, they are usually displaying signs in front of the so called studios with phone numbers . . .

Dear Gabriel thank you once again for your kind words. One thing is for sure! Greece has become very expensive even for the Greeks.Housing and daily expenses are on another scale.Seems to me they want Greece to become some kind of a resort only for rich people.
