I feel like you should have mentioned that you don't have to have a master. But I'm not complaining this is a great vid. Nailed it as always PJ

Literally had no knowledge of doing this. Watched these videos how to pin up sfic and just pinned up my first core and worked great. Thank you CLK! #Lockboss

This is a great video. That said the verbiage on one of the instructions should be, "Subtract B4 from B3." Not the other way around. Alternatively, it could say, "Subtract B3 by B4."

After watching SFIC 1 & 2, and downloading the pdf, I made a google sheets of this chart to do all of the calculations and the 23 check, still working on the other checks but it's functional. Have a great day!

No one ever explains that there are small springs and large springs and when to use which one. Thats a major issue for beginners.

PJ... I cannot thank you enough for making this system understandable. Like budgeting, I plan to use the handwritten chart until I can better understand how all of the pins interact. I plan to get one of the SFIC A-2 kits in a future purchase. I want to be a more complete #lockboss

Excellent tutorial. Is there a GMK with MK and Change Key pin-out math worksheet?

Great job explaining this whole process. I can see why you wouldn't want to calculate this manually for more than two or three different locks.
Question: I have a Rytan Extreme dual key punch currently set up for Schlage and Kwikset. If I installed the parts kit for A-2 keys, would I have to punch the keys in reverse order, since Pin 1 is now at the opposite end of the key?

What's different between short and long springs, which do I use to key best cap style cores?

We use Masterkey Pro but are having an issue with say having all suite keys open a restroom core as well as their suite. Is that something that can be done. Each suite key has a change key and a master with control. I'm learning and I'm getting into ic cores. Thanks a bunch

Thank you so much for your videos. I am a starting out Locksmith in Mississippi. Anymore information on my State requirements would be great please.

I assume the master you cut is intended to open all locks in the system. What if you wanted to also have sub masters that open most, but not all locks in the system? Would you figure them in during the calculations, and would that affect the pinning?
I'm curious, because where I work, we a grandmaster key that opens every lock in the building, master keys that open 95% of the building, and several sub masters that open multiple doors in specific parts of the building.
Thanks!

You could easily build an Excel spreadsheet to do all these calculations for you. Just enter the starting numbers.

Where can I buy the lab nx for pinning locks?

If you were to pin up more than one core using the same control key. Would the control key cuts have to remain the same for the control key to work? I am curious in how it would work out.
