He was a man who permanently redefined the phrase, “High-wire." Phillip Petit’s 1974 death-defying performance is dramatized in a film by Robert Zemeckis. It was one of the most daring feats in history. The tightrope performance between the Twin Towers is brought to the big screen in a new film, “The Walk.” Anthony Mason reports.

This must be the bravest man ever. Can't think of anything more scary thing to put myself through. I can hardly watch it on YouTube and this guy did it for real.

I wonder what Petit felt when he heard about the destruction of the towers.

I ended up crying at the end of the movie. It was a beautiful tribute to the victims and those amazing Twin Towers.

I was so terrified only by watching him trying to walk the wire while I knew it was a movie but it was still terrifying to watch.

Hard to believe I was only one week old when this happened. Very few exciting things happened that year so this was awesome.

Good interview...fearless man! I remember when the walk happened. I went to the top of one tower once. It was scary just knowing I was there. Ate at the restaurant too. So sad when the towers fell and so sad for the lives lost. That was one horrible day! 🙏

I wonder how he reacted to the attack when it occurred. I assume that each place where he performs holds a special significance for him, like cherished memories woven into each location.

I cry because he was so blessed to have his dream and then 3, 000+ lost their lives in that place where he could have fallen.

After seeing video of the great Karl Wallenda falling to his death in 1978 from a high wire it’s difficult for me to watch this video. Philippe Petit is incredible. Such a nice legacy of the Twin Towers.
