LYRICS:
I thought no one could keep us from sharing the rest of our lives
Like a fool I believed you were true and had no disguise
There's a clear blue sky outside
And the summer is fine
But with tears in my eyes I'm
No longer pretending you're mine

It's the same weary story of a woman abusing her man
So I have to forget your though I'm not even sure if I can
There's a clear blue sky outside
And the summer is fine
But with tears in my eyes I'm
No longer pretending you're mine

It's the same ugly story of a woman abusing her man
So I have to forget your though I'm not even sure if I can
There's a clear blue sky outside
And the summer is fine
But with tears in my eyes I'm
No longer pretending you're mine

Greatest rock track ever.
Great vocals, harmonies, acoustic, lead & bass all rolled up into a masterpiece.
59 years later & still thrills me, just what music should do

In a perfect (rock n' roll) world, this kick a** song would have went straight up to number 1 !

Easily my favorite song by them. That riff is so powerful. And the middle, with the na na na... buildup and then the next part with the guitar solo, back to that amazing riff. And those fantastic vocals, as always.

I still think this is one of the greatest rock songs ever written and I wish more young people could hear it.

Heep worked pure magic in the studio starting with this album. Can you imagine the selection of music in the stores in 1971? This album was played constantly alongside the Beatles, Stones, Zep, Deep Purple, etc.

Had the opportunity to see these guys at a local bar in 1981 up close and personal. The show delivered excitement, high energy, and amazing sound and the only issue was I believe I got permanent ear damage that night.

For its time the production value was/is the best I've ever heard for a rock studio album. And I mean EVER!

What a freakin' masterpiece! I must have worn the vinyl LP out, playing this song over and over and over and over in 1974 when I first heard it. I still get goosebumps listening to this almost FIFTY YEARS LATER...

I had the grand opertunity to see these guys up close and personal in 1978 at a local bar in Albuquerque. They put on a rock show full of energy, excitement, and sound. Only problem was I think I got pernament ear damage that night.

Everyone always talks about Deep Purple and Sabbath and Zeppelin. These guys were right up there with them. Heavy, but also Proggy. Salisbury and July Morning as examples

WOW, what an unexpected treat and surprise. I never thought I’d hear Uriah Heep playing slide and doing Blues/Rock. I freakin’ LOVE it!!! Actually, this whole album has been an unexpected treat and surprise. In High School, my Uriah Heep listening was limited to what I’d heard on the radio, so basically, “Demons and Wizards” and “Sweet Freedom”. I honestly didn’t even know they had put anything out until I pulled up their discography on YouTube, which was the first time I’d heard ANYTHING from “Look at Yourself” and now I think it blows away the others. This album would have been in constant rotation, along with Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath, had I heard it in High School.

I've loved the Heep for more than 50 years. This is one of my favorites. Absolutely blistering guitar work on this one. I have to laugh when people say Heep is third-rate Deep Purple.
I like Purple too, but Heep had the vocals and two killer guitarists.
