Putin honors Russian Olympians, saying Valieva's 'perfection' could not be achieved with doping

Vladimir Putin handed out on Tuesday state awards to Russian athletes who won medals in this year's Beijing winter Olympics.

Putin showered praise on the figure skating team, saying that "the amazingly beautiful, virtuoso performances by our girls hold up a bar unreachable for our competition."

He also highlighted Kamila Valieva, who was the subject of doping allegations following her win in Beijing.
