So here are the simplest steps to bypass the USB ERROR 23:

1.Connect your USB flash drive to the PC & backup what’s inside!!

2.Right click on the drive and click Properties.

3.Click Format

4.Change to FAT 32

I found the solution to my issue. If your drive uses FAT32 but still gives this error yet the drive still works on your PC, that's because:
You have used a partition system called "GPT", and you need to reformat it to "MBR".
I do not know if Windows automatically format drives to whatever IT uses, but if you ever used a tool called Rufus you might have checked the GPT checkbox by mistake.
You can double check if your drives are using GPT or MBR with the disk manager in Windows, there are multiple detailed guides you guys can look for.

Hello for those who didnt fix with this way only try to change the usb from GTP to MBR using easy us partition or similar program, it worked for me

that didnt work for me on my Memorex USB, i only have 2 choices NTFS or exFAT (DEFAULT)

There are 3 important settings what should be set correctly:
- Partition type: needs to be MBR
- File system: needs to be FAT32
- Cluster size: it depends on the size of the flash drive (and also maybe on the head unit too)
Up to 256GB drive, 64kB cluster size seems to work well, but for 512GB it should be 32kB, otherwise it will likely give Error-23.

Thought I'd update myself about my Error23.
Turns out there was something with the memory stick, I don't know what it is/was as I'm using it again. But if I had to guess there's something spooky happening with my stick as it nears its full capacity It's a "SanDisk Ultrafit 16GB" and I've been using it in both my PC and my car... Recently I was unable to use it in my car after using it as a diskdrive for a couple programs on my PC as I don't have a DC/DVD Drive, and one day my Pioneer just wouldn't read it anymore.
Problem is gone now, but I don't have as much data on it as I did back then, and now it's working.
Either the problem is my Pioneer having issues reading large USB sticks, or my USB stick is acting strange as it nears 80% capacity. I was unable to test with a different USB stick.

I did this and it didn't work, then I searched and found out I had to change the format type from GPT to MBR. This has made my USB completely useless, I can no longer open it at all nor convert it back to GPT. Luckily I had another USB stick that is already MBR.

Yeah its working,
Along with FAT32, bytes also to be changed to prefered bytes for some pendrives at the time of formating.

Oh of course, my car stereo wasn't reading my new USB drive because it's pre-formatted with exFAT, not FAT32! I thought it was a USB drive manufacturer quirk or something. Thanks

What kilobytes to use i have the cheapest crown cd and when i format to defaults uses 8k kilobytes do i need to lower them?
