Nine Inch Nails 'Closer' Drum Cover - Trey B

I’ve hesitated on doing this because I have a connection to this tune and I’ve never played it the way it was recorded. Like I’ve said on all other #NIN tunes, I think Reznor is a musical genius. To me, the drums on this song were built for interpretation and while mine aren’t the most technical, I played this #drumcover with zero edits and I played from the heart. A few fills but pulled back in every case. I did not want a drum mix to be so prominent it took away from this masterpiece that is this song so I laid back on that. I f'n love this tune. Greatly, GREATLY appreciate that you all are kind enough to watch. I hope you had a great Fourth of July and have an even more amazing weekend!!! My whatever PS........this type of album was made for "us" - a lost generation. To me, most of us remain lost but we fake our way through the muck I guess. I just miss stuff like this. On the production of this, the kick is so f'n sampled it's stupid. There's a sinewave clip, an 808 sample, a Slate sample and an SD2 sample. It's intended to knock pics of your wall if you can get your speakers to crank a 40-45hz bump.

Holy crap, TREY! I was initially blown away with your footwork, the half open hat splashes and kicks are absolutely mad. Then it got totally top end with the ridiculous fills and blew my mind! I've heard the song a million times, seen them live a couple of rimes but never thought of drumming to it, now I'd be scared to. What a masterwork, phenomenal job!!

Killer song pick, Trey! Gotta love NIN, Trent is a musical genius, indeed! Absolutely adore what you did with this iconic tune, hard to imagine, but you even improved it with your incredibly energetic Interpretation. I mean, the fills starting at 3:18 alone are pure insanity, but everything that follows is so friggin‘ good!!! Love all the different cymbal variations, the ride bell accents, the offbeat china and the hi-hat windmill… Man, you’re literally MADE for stadium stages. Watched the entire thing through with a smile! Masterfully done Trey, you ripped through the song in a very personal way without interfering with the simplistic instrumental.
