FULL DISCLOSURE:

The review part of this video is not sponsored nor did I receive any money. While I sometimes get bags for free, I have to pay custom fees, shipping fees and all my videos have lots of production costs (e.g. software and musicrights). Therefore I invest my own money into all of these videos and I have no intention to be biased towards a product or company. Every review and quicklook is written by me and no company can pay for preferential scheduling or what is said in the video. Furthermore, the company sees the video the same time as all viewers here on youtube. All opinions in this video are my own unless stated otherwise.

HOW I REVIEW:

As you might know from my „How I make a buying decision“ video: Rather than just looking at the pros, I like to evaluate the cons or flaws of an item and then evaluate if I can live with them. That is why in my video reviews I concentrate more on the cons of an item rather than going over all the features. Therefore everything shown is just a fraction of all the points that go into the verdict and score of an item.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A QUICKLOOK AND A REVIEW:

A Quicklook usually covers pre-production units or items that I only used for a short period of time. While Reviews cover final items that I have reviewed intensively.

LINKS:

For all my videos I decided not to include links for the products that I review. Everyone is living in different countries and therefore has to deal with different shipping and customs fees. That is why I would advice everyone just to Google the product within their country to find the best deals. For instance: I live in Germany, It wouldn’t make sense to give you a German link while you might be living in USA or Asia. I hope that is understandable.

This is really inspiring, thank you fo sharing your one bag setup Bo. I just recently made a one bag packing list as well for a trip up to one week. Having the one bag travel mentality really helps me to reduce the amount of unnecessary items that I would bring on a trip, and makes the whole trip more enjoyable and smooth.

I've done one bag travel a few times and it is a fun experience the first time you try it and it works. I do feel like merino wool is the key to being successful.

The biggest challenge for me is shoes. I need something to wear out “nicer”, something to work out in as well as a casual pair. Obviously this depends on weather and your occupation. Any tips?

How much clothes to bring? Only three things matter with a minimalistic mindset; climate, social context/requirement and how often you want to do laundry.
I’ve lived on the road for a *long* time and my number is normally 8 base layers. One week of fresh clothes and one set for laundry day.

How do you pack your toiletries differently when flying? Do you use a separate clear bag, and pack it in a more accessible pocket, or put it closer to the top?

I have a Dell Windows 8" tablet with a matching Bluetooth keyboard and a Lenovo 12" convertible with a folding keyboard. The power supply for the 1 is twice the size as that of the 8". One power supply also charges the mobile phone. I have a hub for the 8" to add ports HDMI, Ethernet, more USB and card reader. By the time I include all the extras the volume and mass of the 8" is very close to that of the 12". I did pick the 8" for a long trip but working and planning the next days travel would have been easier on the larger screen.

On any trip I want to carry a separate camera and a couple of lenses but the choice is there for which lens and accessories to take and my Sony APS-C cameras are only slightly larger than a compact full feature camera such as the Sony RX100 VII.

One bag travel is not so useful when you want to separate the tech gear from the clothes or need a daily carry bag as well as a travel bag. Whilst some travel bags compress down to a smaller 20-26litres it means you are carrying the material to expand as well as heavier construction to hold 35-45 litres. Two bag travel is often easier to manage particularly on short haul flights where you have a 5-7kg allowance carry-on.

Hi Bo. Great vid. You mentioned that you are still reviewing the bag, does this mean you are going to do a review video about it and if so when? The Errant Pro looks amazing but I’m keen to hear your thoughts :)

My all rounder so far, and I've tried several Wandrd, Peak Design, Aer and so other brands so far, but "unfortunately" I've been unable to find any bag which could beat the Nomatic Peter McKinnon 35l bag.
No matter what other bags I try, this one is just damn too versatile and well built for situations.
As a biker also I would definitely recommend it. 100% weatherproof.

Hi Bo, hope you're well. I just finished your podcast with OGtalks (love the podcast btw!) and I really want to echo what he said about you being straight up, no bs, and trustworthy - it really gives your videos a lot more 'weight', to me anyway.

Also for a while I've been meaning to ask for your thoughts on the bag I use. Its the Fjallraven Bergtagen 30. I spent a long long time looking for a bag that would meet my needs, which was a bag that was really versatile (could be used for edc, minimal travel, edc, hiking), fairly water resistant, understated, I also like the casual hiking style. I love it, but there's hardly anything online about it though, so it would be great to hear your thoughts. Keep it up. Andrew
