I love how the two guys showed no concern for the woman after she was bit, they just sat there dumbfounded. LOL! Excuse me, can you help me find my nose?

Remember when they were trying to keep this video off the internet to save the dog's reputation?

You NEVER put your face towards an unfamiliar dog they will perceive you doing so to be a threat.

NEVER GIVE A DOG A KISS OR STICK YOUR FACE IN THE FACE OF A DOG YOU DON'T KNOW!! It could happen to any of us dog lovers and I have been guilty of doing it myself! We treat them like kids and love them dearly but at the end of the day they are still dogs.. My heart goes out to this woman and I pray for her speedy recovery...

That dog was giving a lot of signs of discomfort. The owner should have been reading his dogs body language and informed the woman to give him more space. Very irresponsible on the owners side. That dog licked his lips like 15 times while she was petting him (major warning sign) and bit her when she got too close with her face to his.

I know a lady that 30 years ago got in between a fight with a schnauzer and boston terrier, her dogs, and they were fighting, she leaned down to seperate them, and the boston terrier snipped off her whole upper lip, they saved it at the scene, but could not reattache it, she still has no upper lip, and she still does not blame the dogs. Animals do what animals do, and people need to understand them so they don't get hurt, if not, then leave those animals alone

People saying, "It's all in how you raise the dog". So if I raise my Great Dane to retrieve like a Labrador will he? Answer: No. And if I raise a Pit to be as docile as a Golden Retriever, how is that going to work out? There's a reason they use them as fighting dogs, and there's a reason they use them to hunt hogs. Pitt's have one of the highest stages of prey-drive. So, it's not "all in how you raise the dog". When you say that, you are disregarding certain instincts and certainly over-estimating your ability as a dog trainer. Pitt's aren't bad, but you can't put them in situations where a kid or some small animal could be attacked by them.

@mscardiomegaly it was a pretty vicious attack, you see his fury right after the first bite, if you can imagine what he might have done if he hadn't been held back. Ninety stitches to the face is some serious damage, when he could have just growled viciously at her and snarled loudly to frighten her away.At that close range a loud snarl and growl baring teeth is scary enough. He chose to do some serious damage to her face, but she assumed he was a harmless toy to play with.

He did warn her. If she wasn't so obsessed with the cameras and viewers and actually paid attention to the dogs face, she would know he was going to attack... and who would put their face that close to a dog they don't know?

I trust my dog and love her. I always give her hugs and kisses and she never attacked me.

If it was a child that got bit in the face and the dog did extensively more damage to the child, would you defend the dog? Would you call the child at fault because of their lack of knowledge on a dog deemed safe? Nope. Even though this is a grown woman, that doesn't mean she has that much experience/knowledge with dogs.

The fault goes to the people handling the dog/owners in this case. If you're not certain how your dog will react in certain situations, then assume that they could potentially cause harm at any given moment. You don't know how many times I've heard "Oh, my dog doesn't bite" only to see the dog snapping moments later at someone ignorant taking their word for it. Then there's the "I've never seen that before" afterwards. I have a dog and I never say she doesn't bite simply because SHE IS CAPABLE OF BITING. The risk is always there no matter how well the dog is trained, because animals are inclined to fall back on their instincts in situations they're uncomfortable and unfamiliar with. Even "Dog Whisperers" get bit.

And for the love of DOG...GET YOUR PETS VACCINATED.
