•Necessary, if you have performed a service.
•Necessary, if you have swapped controllers
•Necessary, if you have encountered communication abnormalities

04:31 - Firmware Update / Firmware Swap Tool
•Ensure that you are using the newest firmware associated with your motor
•Newer firmware will allow better regulation of power / efficiency
•Necessary, if you plan on using a different voltage of battery with your frame

06:12 - Besst & Besst Pro
•Software which allows the best tool to operate leave downloadable links in the description
•Besst is universal for ALL Bafang motors for diagnostics. However, Besst Pro is designed for the newer Bafang Motors (M510 v2, M820, M560, M630 etc).
•Account based. However, there are some exceptions to this

07:20 - Account with Bafang
•IT IS NOT the same logon account as the account used for Bafang Go or Bafang Go+ app
•Not easy to obtain or apply for as an end user
•Essentially, an account is given to dealers of Bafang systems

08:26 - Is Besst easy to use?
•The Besst tool uses the same plug-n-play concept Bafang implemented years ago
•The Besst & Besst Pro software prompts the user for each step they need to take with clear instructions
•The layout of the software is simple to navigate through
•Each parameter for tuning will clearly explain what the relevance is and how it will affect the ride characteristics of the motor

09:46 - Do you need an account with Bafang to use the Besst Tool?
•Certain features concerning the newest Bafang motors & Besst Pro are not reliant on having an account.
•Besst Pro can be used in ‘offline mode’. You will still be able to set parameters, pull up system info, perform system diagnostics and calibrate the motor.
•Firmware updates will need to be sourced in advance instead of using Bafang’s database to detect whether the firmware installed on your ebike is up to date
•Older Bafang motors and Besst require accounts to be used to perform the mentioned tasks

10:59 - Is Besst perfect?
•The Besst tool and software will only allow diagnostics to a point which it will identify if it can communicate with the entire system. It cannot repair / rectify the problem (unless the communications were not stable to begin with).
•If the problem is mechanical within the motor (one-way needle bearing seized), the Besst Tool cannot remedy this. In addition, if the motor sounds/feels rough due to insufficient grease/lubrication, the Besst tool and software is incapable of detecting or remedying this.

14:07 - Is it Essential?
•Necessary for those who wish to take an active role in terms of ebike maintenance (system-wise)
•Cheaper and more time effective to trouble shooting matters (as a pose to spending more money to swap components which weren’t faulty or the problem
•Personally, not necessary for UART Bafang owners
•Personally, essential for any CANBus Bafang owner

I agree. I don't think it's worth having the besst tool if you only have uart protocol. But I can see why its essential for canbus.

Hi, Neeko I have got a question. So I have a M200 bafang motor on a accolmile bike. My display is can bus the one with a triangle shape. I just want to change the speed limit but it is locked on 25. The manual of the screen only lets me access the info but not change it. Would you know if this would help?

I am really new here, i ordered last week a bicycle with bafang motor, 2 days ago its show errors 36 and 30 it is possible to fix with Besst program and tools of course ?! Greetings

Hi Neeko. I'm a desperate 79 year old with decent DIY skills but no real electronic knowledge, who's only transport is a Jorvik JMT7 mountain e-trike. It's powered by an M500 Bafang, or was, until it died on me. I've taken it to 2 local e-bike shops. They both think it's the controller. I've been in contact with at least 5 Bafang 'specialists' all of whom disappear / stop replying to messages (because they can't locate the right Bafang spares?). Please can you help. I just need to get my transport back on the road. I have photos I can send, but if it's not your thing I understand. Desperate David

I have a Vitus full suss from Chain Reaction.
Only done 50miles. Has the M510 motor.
And the head unit will no longer power on and the bike will not start.
I bought a new head unit. Still nothing. Battery is fully charged.
What are your thoughts?
I am in Scotland or I would have jumped in a van.
I went to my local E-bike dealer yesterday.
He has never worked on a Bafang - and to be honest I am crapping myself .

Hi Neeko. I was listening to hear from you about the sondors lx that's shutting down o me after a minute of being on or when you try to operate the bike. I found the negative terminal broken. I ordered a bord , display just incase. Haven't received them as yet.
Will the display with a pass word ability work with the battery that has a off and on switch?

Hi Neeko, great video. Do you have a list of all the firmwares available for each motor which references the parameters settings?

I've seen some but each firmware is labelled with numbers and letters. And it's not clear which is the most up to date and which one is the best.

Setting the speed limit depends on your account. It is not able to set it to 60kmh for standard or offline users.. You'd need to use the bypass for that.

Hi Neeko I emailed you about two weeks ago and got no response.

My Dengfu bike has a Throttle that came programmed from the factory like a race car. It was either on or off. Just the slightest touch of the throttle would send you right off the back of the bike or wheelie uncontrollably . That said I'm looking for some programming help here.

I emailed Bafang twice now to purchase the Besst tool and they wont respond. I suspect you have to be a dealer or some big race program director to get this device.

Please let us know how one gets a hold of this Unobtanium device.

Would this detect a problem that the 245 display isn't showing as an error?
I also have an e-mythique and on longer slow climbs the assist feels Asif it drops to its lowest setting (e) if I cycle through others there is no difference, if I cycle to 0 then you feel zero assist so it's definitely providing some assist

Sometimes it'll snap back into power itself, when changing gear or not atol until climb is done.
