CS Lewis INCREDIBLE Argument For God

CS Lewis has an incredible argument for God called the Argument from Desire... Lewis says, "Creatures are not born with desires unless satisfaction for those desires exists. A baby feels hunger, well there is such thing as food. A duckling wants to swim, well there is such thing as water. Men feel sexual desire, well there is such thing as sex. If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another would." - Mere Christianity, Book III, Chapter 10: Hope

The innate and universal desire in human beings for something more that cannot be satisfied by earthly pleasures or achievements suggests we were made for the place or state where that desire can be the fulfilled.

Interesting to think about…

Lewis's argument from knowledge is a good one. The one from desire is very weak.
Of course desires can be directed towards false objects, especially if they are complex desires that come from many different needs.
For instance, the desire for God could be a mixture of survival instinct, frustration, and and intolerance for uncertainty.
I want to stay alive, so the promise of an eternsl being bestowing eternal life satisfies my desire. I want to be right and see my views prevail and be vindicated, so the promise of eternal rewards and justice administered by an omnipotent being satisfies this desire. And I don't like the constant anxiety of being uncertain about the world because I know so little, so the promise of an eternal being that knows and grounds all truth even when I don't know it calms me down.

All these desires are natural. But they are not necessarily desires for God. They cannot serve as proofs.

Nonsense, i really i want ppl to think on it rather agreeing on whatever an individual says.

I have a desire to meet spiderman does that mean spiderman exists? Ofcourse not.

Religious ppl will do anything but provide with evidence for their extraordinary claims

That is not an argument, that is just illogical nonsense
"Because I feel the desire to get presents at Christmas, Santa must exist."

Obviously that is the most probable explanation.

If that's the case than only and evil God would put us in a world we can never be happy in

Unsurprisingly, lewis' claim is complete nonsense. Nope, no need or desire for your imaginary friend, so my mere existence shows your and lewis' nonsene to be false.

Lewis isn't much of an apologist. he's even worse when he tells chrsitains to lie to potential converts sine knowing how christianity isn't what it claims might stop them from joining the cult:

I should have been out of my depth in such waters: more in need of help myself than able to help others. And secondly, I think we must admit that the discussion of these disputed points has no tendency at all to bring an outsider into the Christian fold. So long as we write and talk about them we are much
more likely to deter him from entering any Christian communion than to draw him into our own. Our divisions should never be discussed except in the
presence of those who have already come to believe that there is one God and that Jesus Christ is His only Son." preface, Mere Christianity.

Ah the usual ramblings of nonsense from those already convinced of a delusion
