O&E #60 - 1995 Sony Developer's Demo CD!

Показать описание
"This unique demo disc was released in anticipation of the PlayStation 1's launch on September 9, 1995 for those who pre-ordered the system. The disc featured CD music tracks from several Sony artists -- The The, Dag, Korn, Mother May I, and Dandelion -- that was playable in any CD player while you waited for your PS1 to arrive in stores. Once you received the system, the disc served as a demo disc for the PlayStation, with 3D graphic displays of realtime demos, including the same technical demonstrations used to wow audiences when the PS1 was first shown to the gaming press (including the Dinosaur demo as well as "Balls", "Diffusion", "Rcube", "Mat", "Oden", "Movie", "Texture Movie", and Manta. While there were no gameplay videos on the disc, the demos showed off the graphic power of the console in displaying advanced 3D as well as presenting full-motion video and other qualities."+ – ign

This is the CD that introduced me to KoRn...I had the "Here it Now, Play it Later" version of the disc...I can't even imagine how many times I listened to "Blind" on this CD

That disc reminded of the PS2 demonstration at E3 years ago. The system deserves more respect. For its frontline leadership in 3D gaming. Plus giving new developers a easy to work with platform.

I remember when I got the first ever Here Now! Play Later demo disc. It was before I even got the PS1 so I was super excited to hear about this. At the time, they boost state of the art technology. Fastest multi processors, 3-D enhanced graphics and video/imaging CPU engine.

Oh my how time has changed. Technology today from 1995 to 2018 is definitely a “quantum leap” as they say in the 90’s. We have even better 3-D engines both software and hardware side. Better multi CPUs, dedicated hardware for video, audio, memory, and storage I/o access.

Really cool CM, when we couldn't afford to get a game for the Ps1 we had a local store that carried game mags and we would buy one and play the demo disc over and over. Nice video Brother!!!

I listened the heck out of this CD but I don't remember the announcer track at all. Is it possible the alternate one (Hear it now, play it later) didn't have that track?

Damn I graduated High School in 95 lol. That was very interesting and very nostalgic. I miss those days of gaming back then surrounded by friends, pizza, and mountain dew.
