Hisense has seen steady growth in popularity among TV enthusiasts, and, it turns out, its TV sales have never been better. But Hisense is making moves to be the number one TV brand in every market. Hisense is ready to leave TCL in its dust and pass up Samsung as the number one TV brand, at least in the North American market. Can it be done? If what I saw at Hisense's promotional event in New York is any indication, the answer is yes. Also, the 85-inch Hisense UX TV is pretty stunning, but I don't think most folks will be able to buy one. Find out why in this video.

Models covered in this video: Hisense U6K series, U7K series, U8K series, 85-inch UX

I like the direction Hisense is going as a company. More companies need to display the actual specs on their packaging/listings. As someone who has been waiting patiently for a TV worth upgrading to, my next purchase will come down to price to performance & hope Hisense can deliver.

I have a U8H and have been blown away by the tv for the price point. I am glad to see both TCL and Hisense bringing good technology at a decent price point.

Last summer, I had never heard of the Hisense brand but took a chance and picked up the 4K 55" U88G (CDN ver of USA - u8g) and so far I've been pleasantly surprised and very satisfied. The 120Hz refresh is real, not simulated. It works well with PC gaming (allows up to 120fps). The HDR-10 works, Dolby Vision works, DTS works, bluetooth audio works etc. Of course, I'm only 10 months in and for comparison, my Samsung 55" 4K started to lose LEDs about 15 months in so who knows how this will turn out. Crossing fingers and hoping Hisense comes through where my previous fav, Samsung did not.

I can't wait for these models to launch later this year. I guess I'll wait until people have time to fully review them, but the U8K seems like a super solid choice for my next TV.

I have a 2020 65Q8G, not a top model then and I paid $1K Canadian. I took a chance on it and happy I did. It has some blooming and at times some obvious motion issues, but it's been perfect and I have a ton of hours on this panel. My next panel will be Hisense.

Went to my local Best Buy a couple months ago to see the U8H model. The salesperson there told me he didn't have any and even if he did, wouldn't recommend one. Her was kind of a jerk about it. Hopefully when I'm ready to purchase my next tv later this year, the U8K will be around to see.

QUESTION FOR DIGITAL TRENDS: The U8H review you had last year had some of the highest ratings for "Stuttering" problems with "Low Framerate" items such as Blu-rays running at 24 frames per second (although it still had the low rating of only a 6 out of 10). You said there was one problem in particularly with outright "annoying" Stuttering. This prevented me from buying that TV, which I had preordered. I then learned a lot about "Stuttering" in the TV sets for all brands. Just to help others, I will summarize facts like this:

* Videogames often run at "High" Framerates of 60 frames per second and now even 120 frames per second.

* TV shows and DVDs run at 30 frames per second. There was virtually no "Stuttering" in the era of DVDs.

* Blu-ray movies run at the "Low" Framerate of 24 frames per second.

* The TV manufacturers have created TV sets with very high refresh rates such as 120hz and 144hz to help take advantage of the videogame hardware that uses those high framerates to improve graphics and improve response times in games.

* The "High" refresh rates of 120hz and 144hz "Help" the Videogames with "High" Framerates ; however the "High" refresh rates of 120hz and 144hz actually "HURTS" the Movies on Blu-ray with "Low" Framerates of 24 frames per second. This creates a problem called "Stuttering" in some scenes - usually scenes where there is motion from one side to another.

* The OLED TV sets have the worst "Stuttering" of all, because the OLED TV sets have a "response time" that is virtually "instantaneous." This "Helps" Videogames with "High" Framerates, but it has an Inverse effect that "Hurts" the "Low" Framerates of Blu-ray movies.

I would simply like to know, are the 2023 models going to have improved abilities to fight this "Stuttering" problem that caused so many TV sets to be rated poorly in 2022? This is important to me, because I watch a lot of Blu-ray movies. It is as if I would be better off with my ten-year-old LCD TV set with a slow refresh rate, just to prevent "Stuttering."

I'm really looking forward to possibly purchasing the UX, it is the one TV in all of the manufacturer's 2023 lineups that hits the sweet spot for me. I really hope Hisense decides to push a larger quantity of units to the U.S. in the near future.

My first Hisense tv was a 2016 55inch and I thought it was a fantastic tv. I bet these 2023-2024 tv’s are insane.

My last Hisense died from a power board failure in less than 2 years! I loved the picture, but I didn't replace it with another one!

Lesson learned from U8G and U8H; the actual firmware unlocking NATIVE non-halved res 4K120 / 4K144hz will be available 3-8 months later (U8G became 4k120hz in Feb of 2022, U8H a few months later November 2022)

Other than that, the U8H was the king of HDR game modes, with local dimming + high contrast working with ALLM, and HDR impact & performance being the same as in its movie mode.

Every other brand worsens when you switch to ALLM Game Mode.
