Three people stabbed in London in suspected robbery near Liverpool Street station

Three people have been stabbed in a suspected robbery near Liverpool Street station in central London, police have said.

Police say the the victims were taken for treatment at a nearby hospital and officers have cordoned off the area, and that the situation is not believed to be terror-related.

I was watching a video the other day where a Canadian family were talking about countries they'd like to visit. The mother said she'd always wanted to visit England and her teenage son piped up with "No, I don't want to get stabbed". It hurts my heart to know that this is the reputation our country has now.

What's the names of those attacked and what's the name of the perpetrator? That will tell us a lot, maybe what we're expecting to hear, maybe not. But we're entitled to some basic details to help us to judge the threats around us.

Random & murderous incidents like this which were virtually unknown 20-30 years ago are now so common that they hardly get a mention. I and many Englishmen/women like me ache for the loss of our once great and contented land.

There's more detail in the newspaper reports: two men on electric bikes snatched a mobile phone from an office-worker. Passersby attempted to intervene and stop the robbers, whereupon one of them pulled out a knife and started stabbing at them in an attempt to get away. He ended up stabbing 3 people badly enough to put them in hospital. A fourth person had minor injuries and wasn't hospitalised.

If there was a really harsh sentence for these crimes perhaps it might make a difference, two or three months in jail is pathetic, the law in this country needs overhauling, and judge's made accountable.
