One thing, you said nothing about how to get mantis ;)

The Mantis itself is a really terrible combat ship,
the firing pattern makes combats take a very long time - which is really not good !
Hull, Shield and Defense NEED the research and research NEEDS high OPS levels
- getting these Research stuff is super slow through the refinary

the Actian systems does not really work because you rarely find the Hostiles you need
because scopely put 5x types of Hostiles ( 1 normal explorer, 3x buff explorer, 1x Interceptor)
and you NEED the AT LEAST 2x Buffs (double shot + 100% crit chance) to kill enough to max your cargo
your Cargo is TINY no matter how much Cargo research and even with ALL the Cargo Size Officers in the game
you will never be able to get enough VENOM to use ALL your refinary`s max pulls.

THE ONLY THING that saves the whole Mantis situation is the _"Mantis Refinary"_

the Debuff is fine ... but because of the daily that needs you to use the sting up to 4 times per day
i just put them on random Zero Miners close to my base and never use it for PvP at all
